Boeing’s New 777X Airliner

Boeing is deep into planning and prototyping the new 777X, re-engined with the General Electric GE9X power plant, and rewinged as shown, following Boeing board approval. Note the wing planform does not use winglets. Avionics will include Rockwell Collins’ MultiScan weather radar, traffic collision and avoidance, and terrain awareness/warning system. Fly-by-wire system will be from BAE Systems. Watch video here. Photos courtesy of Aviationweek.com.
