The Convair Model 48 Charger was an early-1960’s turboprop with a top speed of 277 knots. It was a prototype light attack and observation aircraft of the 1960s, developed to meet a requirement for a dedicated counter-insurgency (COIN) aircraft. In its development, Convair engineers built a scale model for testing purposes.
