1917 Aviatik D1: A WW I Model Comes to Life

Our good friend and Model Airplane News contributor, Martin Irvine, of Kingston, Ontario Canada, is always coming up with unique RC projects. Martin has always been known for picking unusual designs and his 1917 Aviatik D1 is no exception. I chatted with Martin about this unusual WW 1 biplane and here’s what I learned his Austro-Hungarian fighter, flown on the Italian Front against Italian and British forces in 1917.
