Gas Engine Firewall Vibration Damping

A very effective vibration damper for big engines is used between the firewall and the engine mount. Use suitable size slices of radiator, heater or windshield washer hose. A large washer is essential between the bolt head and the last piece of rubber. Tighten only sufficiently to just cause the rubber to bulge slightly—use self-locking nuts or double nuts.
