Germany’s 5-Seater VTOL Electric Jet Hovers and Transitions to Horizontal Flight

BBC reported that the Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) Lilium Jet successfully took off from the ground. The aircraft has 36 electric motors and reportedly can be recharged in just a few hours from a standard 240V electrical outlet. The Lilium Jet has been extensively flight tested at Oberpfaffenhofen airfield near Munich, and by October 2019, had transitioned from vertical to horizontal flight and reached a speed of over 100 km/h.
