Pilot Projects – Gee Bee Racer
Built from Henry Haffke’s plans published in Model Airplane News in December 1994, this sort-a-scale model was converted from glow to electric and is powered by a Rimfire 32, 70-amp speed control and a 4S battery. The 63-inch-span model weighs just under 5 pounds. Gregg writes, “Flights are very scale like, and with a tail skid, takeoffs and landings are exciting.” Gregg Ruppel, Oro Valley, Arizona
