Here’s a large-scale version of the spring plungers that hold your watch band in place. “A” is a hollow rivet that has been soldered onto a 3/32-inch music-wire pin, which has, in turn, been soldered into the 1/8-inch-i.d. brass tube, “B”. “C” is a spring taken from underneath the flint in a Bic lighter, and “D” is the plunger (3/32-inch music wire with a 1/8-inch-o.d. brass tube and a 1/-8-inch hollow rivet soldered onto it.)...
