Drilling Vent Holes When assembling a built-up wood model, I find it helps to drill vent holes where iron-on covering is applied over a sealed assembly, such as control surfaces. This allows changes in temperature and pressure to equalize, and it minimizes bubbling of the iron-on film. This is especially helpful in the South during the warm summer months.
