Monofilament Tip Skids

For those vintage scale models or even for gliders, suitable lengths of nylon monofilament Weed-Wacker cord embedded in wooden blocks make excellent wing-tip skids. They’re flexible and, unlike wood, they won’t break. You could paint the monofilament to simulate wood and then cover the skids with clear heat-shrink tubing.
