Here is a simple way to install pinned hinges without glue jamming the hinge knuckle. You’ll need Vaseline and a shallow metal container. Put your covering iron in a vise (upside down), and set it for low temperature. Place enough Vaseline in the metal container so that, when it melts, there is about a quarter of an inch of liquid Vaseline. Fold the hinge in half, and dip just the hinge knuckle in the Vaseline....
